One Easy Way to Make a Diet Lifestyle Change to Stick is by Scheduling Cheat Meals By J. Kevin Johnson
One easy, simple, and effective way to make the switch to a better diet lifestyle is by planning cheat meals. Many assume that in order to make the changes necessary for the pursuit of optimal health and well-being to be realized, you have to be all in or else. This simply isn't the case. And it just ain't gonna happen in real life. Thus, it's better that you just plan for a vacation meal or two and incorporate the real world into your healthy lifestyle.
There are times in which you just want to go crazy, and eat something you know you shouldn't. Those among us who are hardcore may say that you should stick to your guns no matter what and not deviate, when in fact this may do more harm than good. Every now and then you should take a break, deviate, and enjoy a meal that you now should be eating. It's perfectly okay, and trust me, the worlds won't collide. I personally try to follow the 80/20 principle in that you eat healthy and nutritious 80% of the time knowing that there's going to be 20% life that just happens and we're not able to meet the desired goal for the day. You will go off the path for a moment. Just plan for it, enjoy it for what it's worth, and keep it moving.
So, take a time out every now and then, and enjoy a cheat meal!
Remember that health is more than numbers on a scale. In today's world we've allowed what it means to be healthy to be narrowed down, defined , and confined to weight, when in reality health incorporates many facets of human existence that's influenced by a myriad of factors.
We are three part being made up of Spirit, Soul, and body, and our overall health is contingent upon how well all three of these areas of being are operating and interacting with one another.
In addition, all three parts are influenced by factors like what we eat, the level and types of nutrition we're getting, exercise, toxicity in our environment, how well we deal with stress, how much rest we're getting, our social life, and whether we're living with purpose and design!
Even though the number on the scale is a nice number to be aware of as a small metric in the pursuit of good health, remember it plays only a small minuet role in a hugh orchestra of the symphony of optimal health and well-being!
In today's society being sexy is highly valued. Sex sells. And the more sex appeal that one exudes the more attractive one is perceived to be. Often being sexy is equated to breast size, shape of the rear, or gap in between the thighs of women, and the pec size, muscle tone, or amount of hair on the heads of men. Being sexy is often dialed to it's most fundamental component of being a result of the physical attributes of a person when in my opinion this couldn't be further from the truth. Being sexy is more than our physical make-up and has more to do with our attitudes, and begins in the mind. We having been brainwashed and bamboozled by the propaganda of Hollywood with regards to what we deem to be sexy. And when placed under much scrutiny, we find that Hollywood can't even keep up with it's own standards in that much of the images and media produced are fake, unsustainable, and down right impossible to obtain in real life. (Click Here for a great article about some of the antics that models and personalities in the media do in order to achieve their flawless image)
Even though being sexy is often equated to our physical attributes, it begins in the mind of a person. Being sexy starts with what we think about ourselves first then leads to how we feel about ourselves resulting in our level of self-esteem. I've encountered many men and women who would be deemed sexy by societal standards, but due to how they viewed themselves, their attitude wasn't sexy or appealing at all. Vice versa. I've ran across many men and women, who by societal standards would not be judged as sexy as a result of their physical appearance, but their personality manifested sexiness to the max. They were confident about who they were on the inside, which shined on the outside. If you have the view that you have to have the perfect "10" body in order to be sexy, than think again. Being sexy is about your mindset. It's about your attitude and having confidence. It's about smiling more and having a captivating personality that intrigues and fascinates as opposed to having the "perfect pecs," or a nice rack. Thus, being sexy starts in the mind, working it's way through our feelings, manifesting through your personalty.
In short, their is nothing wrong with wanting to being sexy, attractive, and appealing, but it's essential that even though we're striving to be in the best physical shape that's obtainable for our genes, physical appearance isn't what it's all about. Our physical appearance is a small component of being sexy, appealing, and attractive. It begins with the inside first, then works to the outside. The world has it backwards. It doesn't start on the outside! So, smile more, look people in the eyes, stand straight and upright, and speak with confidence! Because dog'gon'it! People like you!

I've recently embarked on a journey to get back into tip top shape, and have started following a fitness routine known as burst fit training. Burst fit is a trending way of working out in the fitness world in which you train like a sprinter verses a marathon runner. Instead of training with moderate intensity over an extended amount of time, which is the conventional way of working out, you train in shorter secessions at higher intensity levels. In essence, you train like a sprinter would. For instance, instead of running on the treadmill for a 30min-45-min session at a moderate pace, cut your training time in half by placing many spikes of high intensity sprints between short periods of rest and moderate pace sessions. Run hard for 50 seconds. Take a 20 second break. Then repeat. With this process you can accomplish a lot more in less time. In addition, it makes your workouts more interesting.
I've been using this technique for the last few weeks and can already tell a difference in my energy levels, physique, and mental clarity. Of course nutrition is a vital part of results achieved, but none the less, the workout sessions must be effective, demanding, and done with diligence.
Give this a try and see if it's something you may want to incorporate into your work out sessions. Once you go burst fit, it's hard to go back to the long and marathon like training sessions.
