Given that the nation is in a health crisis, it's essential that we stay vigilant as to what we put in our mouths, do with our bodies, and think with our minds. All these areas of existence effect our health and well-being, and when one area is out of balance the others soon follow.
With respect to our diet, we are bombarded with so many messages of what we're to eat and not eat. This is why I believe that it's important to follow the principles laid forth in the Bible. The Bible lays out clear principles for the diet of man to help fuel our bodies for Kingdom work, the ability to enjoy our families, and to have a high quality life.
I happened upon a pretty good episode of the fat-burning man show that I think discusses good solid health practices that's scientifically back and Biblically acceptable. Dr David Perlmutter, author of the book Grain Brain, talks with Abel James about the importance of eating fat, the importance of getting sugar out of your diet, the importance of brain size, and why you want to get grains out of your diet or limit them today. He references solid scientific studies that show's the effectiveness of eating a high fat, low carb diet as well as other good practices for optimal health and wellness. Give this show a listen/look to glean some great health practices that will benefit you and your family. May the grace of our lord be with you always!
