My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Proverbs 4:20-23
I've been thinking a lot about the heart lately. Do to a turn of events in my life with relation to my marriage, I've been forced to recline to a quiet place and seek deeper understanding as to the many issues and trauma induced patterns of destruction and sabotaged that have been embedded within.
In the recent attempt to reconcile, reconstruct, and restore my marriage, or at the bare minimum get it to a place of cordial and mature communication with my formerly estranged wife, I've been forced to consider and contemplate the deep brokenness and trauma experienced by past offenses. Equally, I've come to recognize the need for deep healing in order to let go of the past, live mindfully in the present, and pursue my future with power, love, and compassion! The heart is truly an amazing thing and there's definitely more to it than meets the eye at first glance.
There are neurons in the heart that enable it to act as an information producer and possess a mind of it's own. It's studied in the field of neurocardiology. It has the capacity to have a memory as well, which I think is amazing. There are many confirmed cases of people with heart transplants experiencing the memories of the donors from which they've received their newly acquired heart.
It sends more information to the brain then the brain sends to it, which may give weight to the belief that we're emotionally driven creatures by nature. It's been reclassified as being part of the endocrine system in that it produces hormones such as oxytocin, the "love" hormone. And it emits an electromagnetic field that extends up to 8ft around the body that can affect and influence those who fall within our "8ft. bubble." That's amazing stuff! And simply put, it just blows my former paradigm about the heart to smithereens!
Hear thou, my son, and be wise, and guide thine heart in the way. Proverbs 23:19
In recognizing that we're emotionally driven creatures and that our hearts play a bigger role in the mechanisms that drive and motivate us as humans, it's absolutely essential that we guard what's deposited into us with high caution. What goes in us will manifest in some shape, form, or fashion. We are truly amazing biochemical and electrical works of art that requires good software in order to run properly. Give yourself good instructions such as the Word of God, then you're doing good. Good instructions lead to a good life! Who can argue with that, right!?
Start inputting bad instructions, well, you start doing things you never thought you'd be doing, going places you never thought you'd be going, and enjoying the company of those you said you'd never allow the pleasure of enjoying your presence. Be mindful of what you watch on television, listen to on your iphone, and associate with in your circle of friends for it could prove profitable, or be to your destruction. What we allow to influence our hearts has the capacity to resonate beyond comprehension in our lives.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
Incase your heart with the Word of God in order to have a foundation that will lead, guide, and empower you to live a life that will resonate Love, compassion, and care for yourself as well as others. The Word of God is the right foundation on which we're meant to build and construct being. It's the frequency or "radio station" that we're born to listen to as well as broadcast to those within our sphere of influence. We are not islands unto ourselves and are born to live within close proximity to each other evolving into various forms of collectives. The source, or the key to successfully achieving healing and overcoming deep heart matters can holistically be found in the Word of God only. All other ways are not true and act as patches versus providing the cure.
In short, in looking at my marriage, the condition of my heart, and my new found knowledge concerning it, I've come to realize that no matter how deep the trauma of the offense, the Word of God can bring holistic healing to your soul. You can experience a healing that will bring you to a place of Love, compassion, and peace! We just have to be ready and willing to humble ourselves to the instructions of the Word and follow them with surgical precision. We must be ready to hear and do the prescription for healing which many of us, including me, have a hard time doing. It's funny isn't it? We spend an untold amount of money, time, and effort searching for cures and relief, yet have trouble actually following and doing the Doctor's orders! We are some crazy, emotional, and jacked up creatures sometimes! LOL
May the grace of God be with you, may he give you peace, and shine His Face on you!
