Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass but learning to dance in the rain?
"I can't believe he would do that to me after all we've been through!" She said shouted to her friend. "How can a man be so doggish and disgusting!" she exclaimed. "I feel so betrayed, humiliated, and stupid for trusting him and allowing myself to be so vulnerable and open to him! I feel like things are just spiraling out of control and that life isn't fair. Life is hard enough as it is. I can do bad all by myself! I feel so alone and like the storms of life are beginning to drown me out! I need a drink! I need some pills! I need me a "real" man! She lamented.
I can't guarantee much in life, but one thing I can guarantee is that Uncle Sam will always want his money and life will bring you some unexpected and devastating storms! If we live long enough in this present evil world we will experience many pains and troubles regardless of economic status, education level, ethnicity, gender, family background, or any other demographic one can imagine. Trials, tribulations, and life storms do not discriminate and everyone in existence will face some "game changing" times that'll require us to do a gut check and test what we are made of. It is an inevitable unequivocal fact that you will experience, pain, suffering, disappointment, frustration, anger, moments of insanity, loneliness, abandonment, betrayal, despair, hopelessness, fear, torment, anxiety, bitterness, have an unforgiving heart, wrath, white hot nuclear sun surface rage, thoughts of suicide, etc. I could go and on, but you get my drift. And in the face of this reality it can be difficult for even the most prayed-up saint to stave off negative thoughts and a roller-coaster of emotions from drowning one in self-pity and despair. But God!
But the things which are impossible with man are possible with God. If we are willing to do what it takes to maintain a constant Spiritual discipline and stay diligently in His presence than we can minimize the intensity of our life storms learning to dance through them as opposed to crying, drugging, or crawling our way through them. Practices such as staying in His word, singing spiritual hymns, staying in fellowship with like minded individuals, speaking and taking in positive messages, praying on a consistent basis, and eating good nutrient dense high quality foods are but a few things we can do. One of the best ways is to stay in His Word.
The Word of God is powerful and girds up our hearts and mind for this spiritual journey called life. The Word of God is mighty in the pulling down of strongholds and sharper than any two-edge sword. For God has declared in His Word that He would keep us in perfect peace if we keep our minds stayed on Him. This peace is a promise to His children. A people who have put their faith in Him in spite of the situation or circumstance. We must remember that we walk by faith and not by sight. The Patriarch David is a chief example of one that was inundated with trying circumstances and by staying in the presence of the Almighty he persevered. He experienced family turmoil, friends who really weren't friends, and enemies without, as well as enemies within his kingdom. Yet he refused to allow the conditions in which he faced to over take him, hastening always to the throne of God for help. David understood the importance of trusting in the God of Israel, his Maker, the true source of his strength. He declared, "I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, and in His Word do I hope." Thus, it's important that we realize that our Father has our good at heart and that we can not allow our emotions to reign and rule our lives, but we must bring them into subjection and realize that God allows things to happen in our lives for our ultimate good and not destruction.
As I conclude, lets realized that the Devil loves nothing more than for the people of God to drown in a sense of hopelessness, fear, and doubt. He desires for us to feel and act like victims of despair, but the devil is a lie. The promise is victory in every circumstance for the saints of God who will abide in Him regardless of how it may look! May the grace of lord be with you always!
