*Note: This post is more of me thinking out loud, processing information, and piecing together a coherent viewpoint that is clear and articulate...in other words lend me some charity in this one aight ;-)
And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: Acts17:26-27
Over the last few days I've been revisiting information and sources pertaining to religion, race, and the Bible such as the documentary Hidden Colors, the book From Babylon to Timbuktu, the documentary Maafa 21, and other works...my faith is not shaken one bit. God is love. God is not a racist. God is for your complete and utter freedom...the question is are we willing to accept Truth and walk in it fully at any cost or sacrifice?
These are questions that I pondered and am still pondering as I continue my journey through these controversial subjects. In graduating with a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Kentucky, I'm well aware and versed in the talking points, arguments, and various philosophies concerning religion, race, and faith and have been fatigued for some time with respect to discussing these topics in depth. I've been trying to resist the trend and growing tide that's been fomenting for some time now with regard to the race factor being forced to the forefront once again in the minds of the collective conscious of the masses. After much deliberation, I decided to revisit old resources, and source out new ones about race, religion, and the Bible to see what I can come up with under the unction and moving of the Holy Spirit.
A couple of points that I want to hone in on for now is that:
In short, I'm still processing a lot of information concerning race, religion, and faith. This seems to be a heavy topic that brings a lot powerful and passionate emotions to the forefront in people, so I want to be thoughtful, precise, and clear in what I say and how I say it. It's not my intent to offend or push an agenda, but to explore this topic with open eyes and ears to see what the facts say and listen to the story that they tell.
I know this for certain though, God is Love, He Loves all His creation no matter their skin color, and is for our complete and utter freedom. May the grace of Jesus be with you always!
