Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies... Psalms 51:1
Given the fact that the hearts and minds of men are waxing colder by the minute, it's a tremendous blessing to know that there's a God in Heaven who remembers that our frame is weak and has mercy on us. Salvation is a life long process and journey, and the acceptance of Jesus Christ is the door in which we step through to begin that journey. Along the way we will make many mistakes, fall down, and just plain'ol do the wrong thing at times. I'm forever grateful and indebted to the Lord of Host for his grace, patience, and mercy that works in conjunction to purge out sin in my life. Mercy gives room for the process of maturation in love, allows for the practice of love unto perfection, and displays the beauty and majesty of our soon coming King!
God is abundant with mercy and it is a part of love that manifest itself in compassion and kindness that allows for us to make mistakes and error in this journey called life. Without it, we would be men most miserable and walking around on egg shells waiting to be lightening bolted into oblivion. It's a characteristic that provides room for imperfection; allowing for iniquity to be worked out of our hearts! Similarly, like our Father, mercy gives us the insight, patience, and motivation to overlook the many faults of our fellow man, brother, and sister. In this marathon called life someone will bump you, thump you, and piss you off, but we must let it go in order to remain undefiled and pure in all areas of our being. So, mercy empowers us to "just let it go maaan!!" Lastly, mercy points to the majesty, beauty, and holiness of Love that this world is in such dire need of and is longing for. As the world descends more into wickedness, the beauty of Love shines brighter in the eyes of men.
Thus, we are not to tempt God. But we are to do our best and forget the rest knowing that God loves us and wants us to finish the race. He wants us to endure to the end in order to go off in to eternity with Him where eyes have not seen, nor ears have heard what's in store for those who remain pure, and without spot or wrinkle. May the grace of our Lord Be with you always! Amen!
Exodus 25:17-19 And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof. And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat. And make one cherub on the one end, and the other cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof.
1Chronicles 16:34 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.
James 5:11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
