Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3 KJV
I've been thinking much about peace lately. I've recently had a turn of events that's shaken my inner "Eden" of peace. These turn of events have knocked out of balance what I thought to be a nice existence of Zen-like status in an otherwise crazy and gon'bonkers world.
I'm sure you've had this happen to you at some point or another and can identify with as well as understand where I'm coming from. You finally get some form of a system in your life that allows you to survive and drudge along without too much pain when all of sudden the rug is pulled out from under you.
You calculated to the last red cent how to make the check last as long as the month. You figured out how to bob and weave with the "Bill Man" until you get'em paid. You figured out how to keep the kiddos in a state of relative cooperation and adherence to the laws and ways of the house. You manged to manage the bullwhip of the boss-man without getting that beautiful paper of pink. And yes! You even calculated to the millisecond how to keep the significant other from going insane...or did you??? Then all of a sudden a big'ol giant meteor of rug pulling, world turning upside downing proportions come crashing in on your world. Thus, begins the journey to trying to get that perfect state of inner peace back once again.
Apparently, there still remains more to master if you allow external circumstances to dictate your inner state of being. Which is pretty much where I'm at for the moment.
It's now time to get back to that place of inner Eden. Not only is the goal to get there, but it's now my goal to stay there and never leave, no matter what. (Even if you try to lure me out with a Chocolate Chunk cookie freshly baked right out of the oven with the aroma of moist chocolaty goodness permeating every nook and corner of the house tickling my nostrils with child like pleasure! Nope! Even that won't work!)
Here are three steps I believe can take you to Paradise, Eden, Valhalla, Zen, Perfect Peace:
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
The first step to perfect peace is by having a direct harmonic connection with the Creator of the Universe through His son Jesus Christ. Without such a connection the path to true perfect peace can never be obtained.
Whether we realize it or not we're born in a state of disconnect from G_d that manifest itself in some form, shape, or way in all of our lives, and the only remedy for that is to have our spirit connect and resonate with The Spirit.
The Father is seeking a relationship with you, and all He ask is that you accept His son, Jesus, as your salvation. When you do this you then begin the journey down the path of The Narrow Way. There will be many set backs, disappointments, and obstacles, but the longer you keep walking The Way, the more enveloped and fortified you become in the knowledge of knowing that you are saved and on the journey to being the best You you were designed to be. Your spirit will cease from the torment of the thought of death, and you will have rest.
Mental & Emotional Peace
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? I Corinthians 3:16 We're admonished to be mindful of our temples and to take good care of them.
In short, I've been forced to reorder some things in my life that's brought to my attention that there's still much to be learned when it comes to being a mature person dwelling in peace. But trudge on, I must!
These are the steps that I've followed in the past, and these are the steps I'm revisiting and doing over in order to get up, dust myself off, get back to walking The Way of the Narrow Path resolving to never stop.
