" Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour" 1 Peter 5:8
I aspire to live my life like the cheetah. Living out my nature running, pouncing and killing.
One of the cheetahs biggest predators is the lion. The cheetah has a slim and sleek body type which generally makes them weaker when it comes to conflict with bigger animals like the lion so they make use of their speed.
With Cheetah like speed I choose to pursue after God, avoid the weights and obstacles of this world, and out run and maneuver the enemy's fiery darts and traps. The cheetah is the worlds fastest land animal, and my enemy can toss, hurl, or throw whatever he wants at me. It doesn't matter how BIG he projects himself to be. I can never be caught.
Perseverance is defined as steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. Well, what does steadfastness mean? The dictionary defines steadfastness as firmly loyal or constant; unwavering. Hebrews 12: 1-2 tells us to run with our minds made up. Run with your eyes on the prize and with the determination to never give up no matter what the enemy may try to hit you with. Yes there may be some delays, but delayed does not mean denied. Stay focused on the task at hand.
How can we do this in our day to day lives? We can start by waking up every morning and choosing to not let life's hardships, trials and tribulations dictate our mood or have control over our emotions.
We are constantly being tested on our jobs, at school, by our family, and even children. True growth and change comes when we can take a step back from a situation, acknowledge how we feel, and CHOOSE to not let it affect us in a negative way. Choose to be happy. Keep your eyes fixed on what matters most.
I have a sister who runs track. (Hi Jasmine!) When she's running she is focused on finishing the race. I never see her looking around at who is in the crowd or checking to see how close her competition is. Giving in to distraction is the easiest way to be captured by your enemy.
I was inspired by my outfit this morning to walk....no, run into 2016 with no fears, no boundaries, no limitations with the help of my Creator. This cheetah print leather skirt was thrifted and given to me by a friend. Thanks Neicy! I chose to go with a sleek and polished look by pairing it with this black turtle neck and black heels! Cheetah print literally goes with any color so play around in your closet. Mix and match prints. Before you know it you'll have a unique look made just for you!
