A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:2-21
Proverbs 18:20-21 tells us that “A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” In other words, whatever you continually speak, that’s what you’ll eventually get, good or bad.
It is a good thing every now and then to take inventory of what you have been speaking over your life. When a negative situation comes about, what kind of words automatically tumble from your lips? Do you speak what the Word of God says about your situation or do you speak from the negative feelings that come with the circumstance?
The Word of God is designed to be spoken. He gave it to us to put us over in life. It has power to change you and your circumstance. When Satan tempted Christ after he had fasted for 40 days in the wilderness, He answered him with the Word. Starting today, give voice to His Word. Find the scriptures that are appropriate for your circumstance and begin to confess them regularly. Agree with God regardless of what it looks like and watch your life change right before your very eyes.
